A vibrant event flyer titled “A Day with NAOBI-DC: Rooted in the Community.” The event will be held virtually on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST via Zoom. Featured presenters include Krystal Butler, BEI (“ASL Meets Jazz: Interpreting Instrumental Music”), Rodney Lebon, NIC (“More than the Music II: Drag, Ballroom, & Other BIPOC Queer Spaces”), and Min. Kimberly Veney, M.Div, CI/CT (“Form & Function of Black ASL as an Interpreting Model”). Each session offers 0.2 CEUs. Registration details and accommodations contact are provided at www.naobidc.org. The NAOBI-DC Elections Meeting will be held at the end of the Seminar on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 5 PM ET.

The Election Meeting is open to all members regardless of whether you are attending the Seminar, however, you must register to attend the election.

2025 Nominations

Complete the nomination form to nominate a NAOBI-DC Member for a board position. NOW!  NOMINATIONS ARE REQUIRED! 

Open NAOBI-DC Board Positions:

  • President (Certification required)
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

All open positions have 2-yr terms beginning January 2026. See bylaws for position requirements .

Non-member:

Refers to people who wish to attend the Seminar who are not a current member of NAOBI-DC.

Seminar Registration:

Members

NAOBI-DC members who are members in good standing with RID and NAOBI-DC.

Student Members

People currently enrolled in an Interpreter Training Program (ITP/IPP/IEP) and who are current members of NAOBI-DC in good standing.

Seminar Registration:

    • Must verify student status with student email and proof


Non-CEU Attendee:

Current members of NAOBI-DC who are not interpreters, yet support the interpreting profession community.

FAQs

How much does the Seminar cost?

We have several pricing tiers for members and nonmembers.  For member pricing, you must log into your NAOBI-DC account. 


How many CEUs will I receive? 

You can receive a total of 0.6 CEUs.


I want to become a member. Will I still receive the discount?

Yes. However, please note membership dues collected before October 31st will not carry over to the new year. Following our bylaws in section 3.1, "Payments received after October 31st will be applied to the next year’s assessment." 


Can anyone attend the election meeting? 

Yes.  You must register.  Also, voting privileges differ depending on NAOBI-DC membership level.


Can I receive a refund? 

Yes, before the Seminar.  After the Seminar, refunds will not be issued.


Will the conference be accessible? 

Yes.  The workshops will be conducted in ASL. To submit a reasonable accommodation email Liaison@naobidc.org


How can I become a Seminar sponsor and what are the benefits? 

We encourage you to email liaison@naobidc.org to receive a letter on packages, benefits, and pricing.
