Kaylee Teixeira
Kaylee Teixeira (Te-sher-ra) is a native of Massachusetts. She moved to Washington D.C. in January 2019 upon graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a dual BA degree in ASL-English Interpreting and International Global Studies. She is the most recent recipient of the Apprentice of the Year award from the National Alliance of Black Interpreters- DC Chapter where she was elected to serve on the Board of Directors as treasurer before succeeding to the Presidency position. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the American Sign Language Interpreter Education program at her alma mater RIT/NTID. As an early career interpreter she has a passion for supporting and uplifting both the Black Deaf and Black interpreting communities.
Kevin Dyels
Kevin Dyels is a professional sign language interpreter and the Eastern Region Manager of Interpreting for Sorenson Communications.Kevin has held managerial and board positions with interpreting organizations of several professional organizations and commits to mentoring veteran and new interpreters.
He is also an owner of a performing arts interpreting company called First Chair Interpreted Productions. He coordinates interpreters for various conferences and festivals throughout the year both nationally and internationally. He has traveled to India, Romania, Hong Kong, and South Africa with Quest Visual Theatre, a performance group that presents workshops and performances to deaf and hearing audiences around the world. He presents interpreting workshops in theater, affect, team building, and self-confidence. Kevin has a degree in theater and served as a Production Manager for the Deaf Way II international Deaf conference.
Additionally, Kevin works as a professional sound designer and disc jockey, Kevin is married to his partner from Hong Kong and they share a gray Tabby cat.
